Given my tendency to avoid doing much flat work at home, he did very well to come away with a pretty pink rosette for a fifth place in his 2.1 test with 62.5%
Scored about mid field in the 2.4 test with 53.07%
As my boy is not a newly OTTB, this blog is not so much to chart his progress, as my own.
Having battled injury and confidence issues, this blog is to track my progress in overcoming those problems.
My ultimate goal would be to again compete at the Taupo 3DE. However, I would be happy to simply improve my confidence and do well at whatever level I compete.
About Willie
Willie
Registed name: Hooray Bombay Given that Bombay was apparently his destination before being purchased as a 'job lot' with a bunch of other horses.
By: Jetball Out of: Soundoration (Sound Reason)
17 hand DOB: 27.10.97
Graded Novice Dressage, and halfway to Elementary (although only gets a couple of graded starts a year due to my lack of enthusiasm for dressage)
Show jumped to 1.10 in competition.
Completed Novice Horse Trials while a six year old, but hasnt had a novice start for a few years due to rider issues (purpose of blog).
However, he has completed many training and pre-novice events with placings in both.
Capable wee boy, who is relatively straight forward, although has a penchance for being a bit cheeky and taking advantage when I have an 'oh $hit' moment. Also has a sense of humour in that he finds it a huge joke when afore-mentioned action results in a rider fall!
Generally tries hard despite being handicapped by Nanna clip clop on top!
I love him to bits and he'd be impossible to replace.

Now has his own blog... http://thenewpony.blogspot.com/
